The HIV Prevention Choice Manifesto For Women and Girls In Africa

The HIV Prevention Choice Manifesto is a collection of voices of African women and girls in all their diversity, feminists and HIV prevention advocates across Southern and Eastern Africa who are united in calling for continued political and financial support for HIV prevention choice.

I am committed to sharing this information with youths in my capacity as a SRH youth advocate and personally in Malawi and in all youth networks am part of as well as with vulnerable and minorities youth populations such as youths in rural areas and LGBTQ youths .I also committee to this manifesto as a Young woman in Africa with Pan African values towards exploring african lead solutions that ensure young girls and women have access to PrEP services and information as well as legislation access via advocacy and research.

UNICEF commits to dedicate and use its procurement services and capacity in Uganda to work with the government and donors to expand the range of choices available in Uganda to protect themselves.

On 8th September 2023, the African Women HIV Prevention Community Accountability Board (AWPCAB) in partnership with UNAIDS launched the Choice Manifesto in Kampala, Uganda. The launch brought together an array of critical stakeholders in HIV prevention including representation from Uganda AIDS Commission, Ministry of Health, UNICEF, PEPFAR, UNWOMEN, ViiV, Population Council, AIDS FONDS and young women from 8 countries. The countries represented were Rwanda, Malawi, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
